2024
- Dr. Reinka and Dr. Gabriel Camacho of John Jay College published a paper in the Journal of Health Psychology entitled "Se habla español: The role of ethnic centrality in the effect of providing Spanish-language services in health clinics among Latinx Americans"
- Sophie Louis presented the results of her honor's thesis at the Eastern Psychological Association's annual convention with a poster entitled, "Invisible Disability Accommodation and Treatment Seeking in Undergraduate and Workforce Environments." Congrats on your first professional conference, Sophie!
- Dr. Reinka, along with fellow Ursinus psych faculty Brent Mattingly and college alumna Morgan Cope published a paper establishing the concept of "commitment amplification": the desire to move to the next step in a romantic relationship. 2023
- Sophie Louis successfully defended her honor's thesis, entitled, "Accommodation and Treatment Seeking for those with a Concealable Stigmatized Identity Disability in the Undergraduate and Workforce Environments." Congratulations, Sophie!
- Destiny Miller successfully finished her eight-week intensive research experience in the lab by presenting the results of her Summer Fellows project. After interviewing current and past summer students, she made recommendations to the college on how to increase food security for students outside of the semesters. Way to go, Destiny!
- Destiny Miller has joined the lab as a Summer Fellow. She is investigating food insecurity on campus for summer program participants. Welcome, Destiny!
- Coco Carosella successfully completed all requirements and graduated with her BS in Psychology. Congratulations Coco! We'll miss you!
- Sophie Louis was inducted as a junior into Phi Beta Kappa in recognition of her outstanding GPA and commitment to a liberal arts education. Congratulations, Sophie!
- Dr. Reinka gave a talk on the connections between stress & food consumption for the Food Awareness and Accessibility event, hosted by student group UC Possibilities. Lab member Sophie Louis helped organize the event, and both Sophie Louis and readings student Amelia Kunko spoke about their challenges living with food-related disabilities.
- ROSE lab research was highlighted at the Celebration of Student Achievement at Ursinus College. Readings student Amelia Kunko presented a poster entitled, "Stigma and Stereotypes of Mental Illness vs. Intellectual Disability." Honor's student Sophie Louis gave a talk entitled, "The Nuances of Disclosure & Stigma Within the Concealable Disability Population." Congrats Sophie & Amelia!
- Lab alumna Sarah Capen-Becerra presented a poster at the annual meeting for the Society for Personality and Social Psychology in Atlanta, GA, entitled, "Healthy vs Unhealthy Food: A Conflict of Choice"
- Dr. Reinka presented a poster at the Health preconference at the annual meeting for the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, entitled, "Decisional Conflict & Stress in Food Choice"
2022
- Coco Carosella joined the ROSE Lab. Welcome, Coco!
- Alumni Julianna Berardi ('21) and Emily Jobson ('21), along with Dr. Reinka, adapted their class paper on race and health self-efficacy for publication in the Psi Chi Journal Psychological Research.
- Carolyn DeCicco & Sarah Capen-Becerra successfully completed all requirements and graduated with their BS in Psychology. Congratulations Carolyn & Sarah -- we'll miss you!
- Sophie Louis was honored for her high GPA as one of two sophomore recipients of the Phi Beta Kappa John M. Wickersham Book Award. Congrats, Sophie!
- Dr. Reinka gave a talk on disclosure & anticipated stigma for the Invisibility to Visibility fair -- an event coordinated in part by lab member Sophie Louis.
- Sophie Louis won the Student Inclusion & Equity Award from the Division of Inclusion and Community Engagement. Congrats, Sophie!
- Sarah Capen-Becerra won the Psi Chi Award for Excellence in Psychology. This award is given to the graduating psychology major who has demonstrated excellence in academics, research, and service. Congratulations, Sarah!

- Members of the ROSE Lab presented their qualitative analysis at the Celebration of Student Achievement at Ursinus College, in a poster entitled "Shifting Weight Attitudes? A Look at Stigma and Implicit Bias."
- Sarah Capen-Becerra and Sophie Louis, along with co-authors & classmates Olimpia Sansone and Abby Danzig, presented their final class project at the Celebration of Student Achievement at Ursinus College, with a poster entitled, "Self-Efficacy and Perception of Mental Wellbeing."
